Did you know?
The Columbus Symphony Orchestra was the second orchestra formed in the United States; founded in 1855 by Herman S. Saroni, a student of famed composer Felix Mendelssohn.
Funds raised through Toast of the Town provide vital financial support for CSO’s education and outreach initiatives, serving over 15,000 children and families each year.
The symphony disbanded during the Civil War and both World Wars, but always reorganized during times of peace. The orchestra as we know it today was formed in 1949 and has performed for 64 consecutive years.
